Dominican capital’s subway gives free rides to Book Fair
Santo Domingo.- The Transport Reform Office (OPRET) will conduct another test run Friday morning with passengers of the Metro’s (subway) two new cars, and will give a free ride to those who attend the International Book Fair.
OPRET director Diandino Peña said the passengers will board the train at the stations Mirabal Sisters (Mirador Norte), Taínos (Ovando), Casandra Damirón (National Theater), Amín Abel (UASD) and La Feria.
He said the trains will run from 2 p.m. to 7p.m. to the National Theater and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. from that station.
Peña said the test run will could be expanded until the technicians in charge of the system feel it has passed. “This can evidently occur in five, six days, seven days, ten days, even fifteen days, depending on the tests’ effectiveness, which in this occasion are going to cover a greater technical scenario than the previous one.”
The official said other tests to include more stations could be announced soon.
