Puerto Plata gets new works at a cost of RD$71.9 million

PUERTO PLATA. – President Leonel Fernandez Wednesday inaugurated works at the Playa Long Beach, in the Malecon of Puerto Plata province, at a cost of RD$72 million.

The works include a storm drain, sanitary system, street ligthing and 40 shops, located on the beach.

Tourism minister Felix Jiménez said the works were built so the tourists and visitors who come to Long Beach have all the necessary services, including change booths and bathrooms.

The chief executive also inaugurated the remodeling of the housing project La Union in the municipality Sosúa, at a cost if 14.5 million pesos. The works also include the housing complex’s streets repaved and sidewalks and gutters rebuilt, at a cost of RD$13 million.
